"Happy Lazzaro" is an oneiric tale at the point where Italian neo-realism and magical realism meet. Focuses on meeting Lazzaro, a boy so kind-hearted, that he is often taken for granted, with the beautifull Tancredi, a young nobleman with an overly exuberant imagination.
The life of both of them in the isolated Pastoral Village of Inviolata is dictated by the dreadful awning of Alfonsina de Luna, the queen of the tobacco empire and mother Tancredi.
A loyal bond between young men is sealed when Tancredi asks Lazzaro to help him organize his own kidnapping.
